Kathryn Penrod is a Seattle native and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Law in 2024. During law school, Kathryn was Editor-in-Chief of the Washington Journal of Social & Environmental Justice, Vice President of Communications for the Women's Law Caucus, and member of the Civil Rights and Justice Clinic. She also clerked at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General, conducted civil litigation research as a Hazelton Research Fellow, and externed with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra's general counsel.
Prior to law school, Kathryn received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in Political Science and International Studies with Interdisciplinary Honors. Following her undergraduate studies, she taught English in Thailand before returning to Seattle to work as a Case Manager and Housing Specialist at the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC), a nonprofit serving unhoused adults.
Outside of the office, Kathryn loves to spend time outside – hiking and camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. She also enjoys attending concerts and Sounders FC games, cooking and baking, and playing with her two cats.
